16 Must Visit Vegan Restaurants in Berlin
Berlin is an exciting city, and being a vegan there is a treat! I’ve had the opportunity to visit the city twice and feel like its a place where you can easily spend a week and not feel ready to pack it up (plus visiting all of the vegan restaurants in berlin in a week is impossible — you’ve got to stay longer or return!). If someone says they were bored in Berlin, I’d check their pulse.

Where to Stay: Hotel Suggestion
Prenzlauer Allee 4, 10405 Berlin, Germany
This affordable hotel is perfect if you’re not looking for anything fancy, but want to be in the middle of the city (there are other locations, too), and have a few vegan breakfast options! This European hotel chain is always a safe bet for a fantastic stay that won’t break the bank. All of the locations offer a breakfast buffet that you can add on that often times has a few vegan options, but you’re also in close walking distance to quite a few fully vegan spots — I think I’d opt to go out even if they have a few options (unless you’re short on time).
TIP: Don’t worry so much about what neighborhood you base yourself in unless you have a very specific itinerary. Public transportation in the city is plentiful and efficient, no matter where you stay you can get around easily. If you really want a suggestion, I’d say stay in Mitte (middle of the city) or Prenzlauer Berg (close to many restaurants, cafes, and bakeries mentioned in this guide).

Looking back through your guides makes me wish I looked at them again when I got to each city. If I did in Berlin, we would have gone to one of the vegan shoe shops and a vegan ice-cream shop! I’m still regretting not going to a vegan ice cream shop! Anyway, we loved Berlin and your recommendations! 1990 Vegan Living was sooooo great! Food, service, atmosphere! Brammibal’s had the best donuts we’ve ever had. Frea Bakery was amazing! We also enjoyed delicious and fast vegan bratwurst and currywurst at Curry at the Wall. Vaust Restaurant is all vegan and serves traditional German dishes. It was lovely and inexpensive and worth the trip outside the Mitte of the city. One of our favorite meals was pizza at La Stella Nera! We’re actually going to try to duplicate their potato, onion, rosemary pizza tonight….the dough is rising. Your readers should make a reservation there or get pizza to go. I just wish we bought 2 instead of 1. It was the best pizza I’ve ever had, and I didn’t think I’d ever say that after Dr. Drooly’s in Munich, but yowza! That was a memorable pizza! My husband and I are now in the Veggies Abroad fan club thanks to your helpful and inspiring guides!
Awe, you made my day! I am so glad that the guide was helpful and gave you ideas for a return trip 🙂
As someone who’s been living in Berlin and following a vegan lifestyle, I can vouch for the city’s vibrant vegan scene, as your guide captures so well. Lia’s Kitchen is a personal favourite of mine, their homemade vegan burgers are out of this world! And Funk You – Natural Food offers the most delightful mushroom latte. Also, 1990 Vegan Living is a fantastic place for anyone craving diverse vegan options. If you haven’t tried Vietnamese vegan cuisine yet, you’re definitely missing out! Thanks for such a comprehensive guide, it’s truly a gift for us vegans in Berlin and visitors alike.
Thank you! I’d love one of those mushroom lattes right now 🙂
