Mildred’s is an institution in London — they’ve been delighting veggie taste buds since the late 80s! If you can only make it to one spot on this list, you might want to prioritize one of their locations. Their weekday breakfast menu has a creative mix of dishes — savory harissa v’egg bap with scrambled tofu, whipped avocado toast, or everyone’s favorite, fluffy American-style pancakes!

On the weekend, the menu includes all of these favorites plus more (you might be tempted to come more than once, there are so many awesome things to try)! Another bonus: If you have food allergies or sensitives, you can sort their online menu to find dishes that are safe for you.

#2 Plants by De

These enchanting vegan-friendly cafes all focus on providing healthy fare and “damn good” coffee in the most picture-perfect setting (you’ll want to Instagram everything from the wallpaper to your coffee)!

Breakfast is served every day with vegan favorites like delightful pancakes topped with sour cherries and coconut yogurt, porridge, dragon fruit bowls, and much more. But you seriously can’t miss their lineup of specialty coffees! Everything from a Long Black (for more traditionalist coffee lovers) to Rose Matcha.

#8 Van Gogh Café

Breakfast is offered Tuesday – Friday, and a special brunch menu is offered every Saturday, starting at 9 AM.

This community-based vegan restaurant in Brixton is not only creating incredible cruelty-free eats, but it also operates as a non-profit. Together with a local disability employment charity, the restaurant provides on-the-job training to individuals with disabilities and paid employment opportunities.

In addition, they also offer a Pay It Forward program for diners to discreetly buy a coffee for someone in a pinch financially. Their menu features everything from light and flaky pain au chocolat to herby hash browns served with Harissa scrambled tofu and garlic yogurt.
