Vegan-Friendly Hotels in Greece (Mainland)

#1 Niki Athens Hotel

Athens, Greece
This sleek and modern vegan-friendly boutique hotel is an urban oasis in the heart of Athens. The family-run hotel has been delighting guests for over 47 years, and it recently underwent a renovation to give itself a fresh, eco-friendly facelift. The hotel is conveniently located; it is a short 5-minute walk from the Syntagma metro stop and within walking distance of many famous sights, like the Acropolis, the National Gardens, the old town of Plaka, and much more.

On the vegan side of things, in the morning, the hotel offers vegan options on its breakfast menu, but the big selling point is that it is also home to the Winners Vegan Restaurant! This hip spot provides a diverse menu with heavy Asian inspiration, along with a few other favorites. You’ll be delighted with Pad Thai, spicy curries, cheeseburgers, and more!

Pirgos, Greece (Southern Peloponnese)
This charming stone eco-guest house is located at the foothills of the Taygetos mountains and is surrounded by glistening blue seas. Here, time slows and allows you to relax and recharge under the shady olive trees — it’s truly an oasis of tranquility. It’s no surprise that while creating such a beautiful and holistic environment, the owners also considered their impact on the environment and are proud to be certified by the Bio Hotels Association. The hotel is conscious and sustainable about every process of its business, including sourcing organic products, using green energy, waste management practices, and more.

Every morning, the hotel offers a delicious vegetarian breakfast spread with plenty of vegan (& gluten-free) options. You’ll be delighted with locally sourced jams, olive oil, breads, and much more. All accommodation also has a small kitchen area as well in case you want to make any of your own meals or snacks.

#3 Ikos Oceania

Nea Moudania, Greece (Halkidiki Peninsula)
If you’re looking for a luxurious retreat, look no further than this five-star, all-inclusive, vegan-friendly resort. Perched above the turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea, this stunning resort is ready to knock your socks off with its mix of sophistication and Greek hospitality. The resort boasts spacious and elegantly appointed accommodations, ranging from stylish rooms to lavish suites. With an extensive range of upscale amenities and facilities, including multiple swimming pools, a private beach, and a deluxe spa, you might never want to leave!

On the dining front, the chefs here didn’t forget about their vegan friends. Many of the menus are created by Michelin-trained chefs, and all of the restaurants feature vegan options or menus with dishes like vegan Moussaka, house-made gyoza dumplings, and Thai yellow curry.

One more bonus — all Ikos resorts are accredited by Travelife Gold, Green Key, and Blue Flag for their sustainability and eco-friendly efforts.

Vegan Hotels in Santorini, Greece

#4 ETHOS Vegan Suites & ETHOS Vegan Retreat

Fira & Imerovigli, Greece
This gorgeous family-run vegan hotel group doesn’t have just one vegan hotel in Santorini; they have TWO! That means double the vegan pampering for you! ETHOS Vegan Suites, located in Fira, and ETHOS Vegan Retreat, located in Imerovigli, are both ready to delight you and align your vacation goals with your cruelty-free ethics.

From cruelty-free bedding to plant-based toiletries, every detail at ETHOS is curated with sustainability and compassion in mind. The hotel has eco-initiatives at both properties, like using organic, local, and seasonal ingredients in its kitchen, composting food waste, and using energy-efficient appliances, and it has plans to install solar panels.

No matter which location you choose, every morning, you’ll be delighted with an exceptional vegan breakfast spread made with ingredients from their garden or locally sourced — it doesn’t get much fresher than that!

#5 Mod Santorini

Fira, Santorini
This chic and contemporary vegan boutique hotel is the perfect place for a serene and romantic setting. While you’ll definitely want to relax and unwind in your private hot tub or on the balcony while enjoying the sea views, you’ll also not want to miss their MOD exclusive activities and delicious vegan food!

Every morning, the Mod Garden Café whips up a vegan breakfast buffet feast full of Greek inspiration and offers an a la carte menu for lunch and dinner — once you enjoy their breakfast, you’ll definitely be back for other meals! When you’re ready to get out and explore the island, consider booking a private tour with one of the hotel’s co-owners, who was born and raised in Santorini!

Vegan Hotel in Mykonos, Greece

#6 Koukoumi

Ano Mera, Mykonos
When you’re looking to relax or party on the beautiful island of Mykonos, there is nowhere else to stay than this chic vegan hotel! Koukoumi is the island’s first (hopefully the first of many) beautiful vegan boutique hotels and offers visitors an elegant escape in a more intimate and peaceful side of the island. The family behind this property wanted to “bring a breath of fresh air in hospitality” with this property and show people a way of life that doesn’t involve harming animals, the Earth, or ourselves.

When it comes time to eat, you’ll be over the moon once you see their creative Greek-inspired vegan menu. In the morning, you’ll be ready to jump out of bed to sample their lineup of omelets, pancakes, bread, and sweet treats!

It’s clear that the Koukoumi team has considered the impact of every part of this hotel, from soy candles to bamboo toothbrushes and everything in between. You won’t find dairy products, honey, leather, or feathers at this vegan oasis.

Vegan Hotel in Rhodes

#7 Goji Vegan Hotel

Ixia, Ialyssos
Another vegan first for the beautiful island of Rhodes! While it may appear that this hotel is an old hand at serving vegan clients and operating cruelty-free, that’s not always been the case. The family-run hotel has been operating for decades, but it wasn’t until recently that it became vegan — a younger generation took over and gave the property a vegan facelift in the summer of 2023.

Nestled amidst lush gardens and just a short stroll from the pristine beaches of the Aegean Sea, this is a great place to stay when you want to relax, and when it comes time to eat, you’re in good hands.

The hotel’s onsite restaurant and snack bar serve delicious plant-based cuisine made from locally sourced ingredients, offering guests a taste of authentic Greek flavors with a vegan twist. At dinner time, you can pair your meal with Greek wine or their popular Goji Berry Mojito — or both; you’re on vacation, after all!

Vegan-Friendly Hotel in Crete, Greece

#8 Apollonia Beach Resort & Spa

Heraklion, Crete
This vegan-friendly resort is perched on the northern coast of Crete, right on the sandy beach of Amoudara. With its expansive grounds, lush gardens, and direct access to the beach, the resort provides a serene and picturesque setting for guests to unwind and soak up the Mediterranean sun. You’re also only a short drive to the vibrant city of Heraklion, in case you want a break from being a beach bum!

On the dining front, Apollonia is the only resort in Crete offering a fully vegan restaurant named Avocado. On the menu, you’ll find plenty of veganized Greek favorites like Marathopita (traditional Greek pie with fennel) and Moussaka, alongside globally-inspired dishes like risotto, veggie schnitzel, cheeseburgers, and more!

One important note: the restaurant is small and gets busy, so reservations are required.
