Where to Find Vegan Donuts in Los Angeles

#1 Erin McKenna’s Bakery

Locations in Santa Monica & Larchmont Village
Vegan and gluten-free friends, I’m kicking this list off with you (and me, too) in mind! This bubblegum pink bakeshop is churning out 100% vegan and gluten-free treats — they’re making sure we’re not getting left out in the sweet treat rain — yay! Every day, you can pop in for one of their greatest hits — delicious donuts!

They rotate a powerhouse lineup of flavors that includes salted caramel, coffee crunch, cinnamon sugar, maple, dipped vanilla, Samoa, powdered blueberry, and chocolate covered. You can grab a single donut or a dozen — honestly, with a flavor lineup like that, how can you not get a full dozen?

While there, you might also want to check out some of their other house-made treats like brownie bites, cookie sandwiches, cinnamon rolls, and more! One more bonus, they also have a bakeshop in NYC too!

#2 Cake Girl

2100 1st St, Los Angeles, CA 90033
Ok, gluten-free friends, you’re getting spoiled; there are not one but two fully vegan and gluten-free bakeshops in LA with a fantastic lineup of donuts! Now you might not realize you’re passing by a bakeshop as this hot spot is located inside an old school pharmacy, St Louis Drug Co. — honestly, I did a double take and thought that Google had made a mistake!

This retro shop has multiple gleaming dessert cases filed with a creative lineup of colorful cake donuts like hibiscus lemon, matcha, strawberry sprinkle, churro with chocolate, and more! You really can’t walk out of here with just one donut because if you order a dozen, you get 10% off — what a deal!

#3 Just What I Kneaded

2029 Blake Ave #104, Los Angeles, CA 90039
We all deserve a sweet shot that knows precisely what we need — more vegan treats! Am I right, or am I right? This laid-back café and bakery always has a rotating selection of knock-your-socks-off sweets that often includes delicious donuts! Past donut all-star flavors include glazed cake topped with peanuts, cinnamon twisties, lemon olive oil brioche, and more.

To top that off, this is also THE spot to find amazing vegan pop tarts — way better than the ones from your childhood (or so I’m told, you know that dang gluten issue prevents me from taste testing). But, back to the donuts, if you want to make sure you don’t miss them, check their Instagram or give ’em a call before you go.

The family behind this fabulous vegan donut shop has been crazy busy creating their fantastic lineup of gorgeous and delicious donuts — I’m wondering how they find the time to sleep. Before you hit the beach (the shop is less than two miles from Long Beach), you must stop here for a giant box of their stellar donuts.

Honestly, I don’t even know where to tell you to start because they all look phenomenal — lemon meringue (glazed donut filled with lemon custard), cookies and cream (glazed donut rolled in Oreos and topped with an Oreo filled with chocolate whipped cream) or a classic PB & J! In addition to that, they also have a full fruity lineup (strawberry gluten-free, lemon pistachio, blueberry), classic cake donuts, and magnificent cinnamon rolls!

#9 Duck Donuts

3rd St Promenade Santa Monica, CA 90401
This donut franchise has shops peppered all over the US, and at first glance, you might think, nah, there’s nothing vegan there! Wrong! The made-to-order donut shop offers a vegan cake donut and a few vegan-friendly toppings and drizzles like lemon and chocolate icing and nuts. Two toppings you will want to avoid are hot fudge and salted caramel; both include dairy.

There’s nothing better than a stroll down Abbot Kinney with a donut and coffee in hand! This Portland-based vegan-friendly donut shop always has multiple flavorful cake donuts and popular donut bites to delight its vegan friends! #11 DK’s Donuts

1614 Santa Monica Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90404
You may have heard of this famous spot; they’ve graced the pages of popular publications like Buzzfeed and the LA Times and were even featured on the Food Network. Now that kind of popularity doesn’t always spell vegan-friendly; lucky for us, this time, it does! You’ll always find at least two vegan options on their shelves — plain vegan cake and double-dipped dark chocolate vegan cake donuts. Throughout the year, they add seasonal vegan options and specialty options too!

#12 Crafted Donuts

3959 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90010
This old-school donut shop in Korea Town has a rotating selection of handmade flavors every day that always includes something delicious for its favorite vegans! You might get lucky and find a birthday cake with colorful sprinkles, spicy chai, pistachio, and more. Before you head in, it’s best to call ahead and see what’s available, as they often sell out!

#13 Sugarbox Donuts

7138 Shoup Ave #B1, West Hills, CA 91307
These aren’t your ordinary gluten-filled creations; these donut creations are made with a blend of potato flour to make them ultra-light and fluffy! You might be wondering, does that mean they’re gluten-free? No, they do still contain gluten, just less of it. On the vegan side, their West Hills shop usually always has a couple of vegan options, but they recommend that you call ahead of time to see what the options are and that they haven’t sold out (one reviewer shared that she showed up at 10 AM and there was only one left — that must mean they are tasty).

#14 Trejo’s Coffee and Donuts

6785 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90038
It’s hard to miss this bright pink donut shop with a giant pink ring donut in the front window — I bet they can see it from space! This unique spot was created by the Mexican-American actor Danny Trejo whose love of food evidently doesn’t end at tacos (he also owns Trejo’s Tacos in LA). I’m just glad that his love of donuts includes fabulous vegan options! You can come here for an old-fashioned vegan OG glazed donut or check out their sweet cinnamon crumb with an almond milk glaze and more!

#15 Holy Grail Donuts

Locations in Santa Monica & Larchmont Village
Forget an ancient chalice or dusty old scroll; according to this hip donut shop, donuts are the real holy grail of life! How could you disagree, especially since they’ve got a massive lineup of colorful vegan donuts? Their tasty handmade creations are made using Taro flour made from Hawaiian-grown Taro root(the donuts started in Hawaii before coming to LA)! Almost everything on the menu is vegan; they occasionally use honey but always label things clearly. A few of their stellar flavors include dragon fruit, coconut tres leches, strawberry, chocolate crunch, and many more.

#16 Simone Donuts

6400 E Stearns St, Long Beach, CA 90815
Is there anything better than donuts after a long night of fun? But where in LA can you go at 2 AM for a vegan donut? Well, this magnificent spot! Every day you can wander in here and find various vegan cake donut options like chocolate, cinnamon sugar, vanilla, maple, and more. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, they pull out all the stops and add their popular vegan-raised donut options, including Tiger Tails, apple fritters, cinnamon twists, and more.
