15 Dreamy Vegan Honeymoon Destinations

I’d be lying if I said finding all of these knock-your-socks-off vegan honeymoon spots didn’t have me a little green with envy. I didn’t plan an epic honeymoon; we actually didn’t even have one until well over a year after our wedding, and the best that we could afford was a resort in the Bahamas that was under construction (think leaky ceilings and broken elevators) — screams fun, doesn’t it?!

Let me give you a little advice that I wish I would’ve taken — whether you’re having a traditional wedding or eloping (we should’ve done that), do it exactly how you want! I can’t count the number of times people have told me that they didn’t do something they wanted because some random aunt or sibling complained — forget about them! This is supposed to be about you and the person you love.

So do it up big or little, whatever your heart desires, and make sure you plan an unforgettable vegan honeymoon getaway! These 15 destinations are a terrific mix of city, nature, and sand, and they all feature a vegan or vegan-friendly resort — how can you say no to that?

The Best Destinations for a Vegan Honeymoon Around the World

#1 Bali, Indonesia

It’s probably no surprise that Bali is topping this list of stunning vegan honeymoon destinations. If you’re looking for a tropical destination filled with natural beauty, rich culture, spiritual experiences, and so much more, then Bali has your name all over it!

A honeymoon here includes relaxing on some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, From the famous Kuta Beach’s vibrant atmosphere to the shores of Nusa Dua and Jimbaran. If you’re not interested in becoming a beach bum, head into Ubud, in the heart of Bali, to explore its art galleries, traditional markets, museums, and amazing vegan spots. Ubud is also a popular destination for yoga retreats, wellness centers, and holistic healing practices.

Vegan Honeymoon Resort Recommendation in Bali:

#2 Chiang Mai, Thailand

For honeymooners looking for a mix of vibrant local culture and stunning natural beauty, you need to head to Chiang Mai! The city is well known as the cultural capital of Thailand and features ornate temples that are backdropped by stunning natural scenery — lush forests, imposing mountains, and powerful waterfalls.

Another bonus to visiting Chiang Mai is seeing beautiful elephants peacefully enjoy their time in a protected sanctuary. It’s important to note that not all sanctuaries are created equal (please don’t support a sanctuary that promotes riding, bathing, or taking photos with elephants); I recommend Chang Chill, which the World Animal Protection sponsors. All of the elephants at Chang Chill have been rescued from some type of human exploitation.

I lied; there is one more bonus! Chiang Mai is also home to many vegan and vegetarian restaurants offering a diverse mix of Thai cuisine and other globally-inspired dishes.

Vegan Honeymoon Resort Recommendation in Thailand:

Away Chiang Mai Thapae Resort

Vegan resort
This charming boutique hotel is tucked away in a peaceful part of Chiang Mai’s beautiful Old City. It’s in the perfect location to go out and explore the city or stay tucked away and relax. You’ll also love their onsite vegan restaurant, Moreganic, which features a mix of Thai and internationally-inspired cuisine. But, one important note, the restaurant follows Thai Buddhist values and doesn’t serve alcohol.

#5 Aruba

This Caribbean Island has long captivated visitors with its picture-perfect turquoise waters and gorgeous white sand beaches that seem to go on for eternity — it’s the perfect setting for romance. But did you realize that Aruba also has another beautiful side to explore?

While you can hide away for days on end under an umbrella, head to Aruba’s Northeast coast for those seeking a little adventure! This part of the island features a rugged coastline with hidden natural pools surrounded by an arid landscape peppered with spiky aloe plants and cacti. You can explore some of it independently, but the best way to explore is on a guided Jeep or ATV tour.

In addition to all of that, Aruba has also become one of the most vegan-friendly Caribbean Islands. Many restaurants have separate vegan menus, and you’ll find multiple vegan and vegetarian spots that you’ll want to check out.

Whatever you choose to do, you’ll want to make sure to base yourself at one of these vegan-friendly resorts.

Want to escape to a lush tropical paradise filled with stunning beaches, volcanos (dormant and active), waterfalls, and rich cultural heritage with the person you love?! If you’re shaking your head yes, then Hawaii’s Big Island is waiting to take your breath away.

A visit to this beautiful paradise is perfect for the adventurous and those that would rather daydream on the beach and stargaze at night. If you’re seeking adventure, you can go hiking in the stunning Waipio Valley, snorkel or dive in the vibrant waters of Kealakekua Bay, go kayaking in sea caves, or embark on a helicopter tour to witness the island’s breathtaking landscapes from above — and, that’s just the start of the fun!

#7 Costa Rica

If you’re looking for a destination that forces you to slow down, there’s no better place than Costa Rica. The country is synonymous with the phrase Pura Vida, which embraces the concept of living simply and enjoying life — with one look at the country’s diverse and beautiful landscape, you’ll understand why slowing down is important.

A visit to Costa Rica can be filled with incredible cloud forests, wildlife refuges, national parks, sloths, monkeys, toucans, colorful frogs, and so much more! In addition to that, Costa Rica boasts both Pacific and Caribbean coastlines, each offering stunning beaches. From the laid-back beach town of Tamarindo to the pristine shores of Manuel Antonio, there are options for sunbathing, swimming, surfing, and snorkeling in crystal-clear waters.

One note, if you want to explore the country, I suggest staying in multiple places, including Mother Earth. For even more options, check out my lineup of vegan-friendly hotels in Costa Rica.

#8 St. Lucia

By now, it’s probably pretty clear that there is a theme with beautiful places (that happen to be vegan-friendly), making the ultimate destinations for a honeymoon getaway — St. Lucia is no exception! The Caribbean Island is renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty — stunning white sand beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, lush rainforests, and iconic volcanic peaks called the Pitons.

In addition to the beauty, this is also a great destination if you’re looking for a bit of peace and quiet. St. Lucia has plenty of private beaches, hidden coves, and nature trails, perfect for romantic quality time. On the other hand, if you want to go on an adventure, you can do that too! You can hike the Pitons, go zip-lining through the rainforest, explore volcanic landscapes, or embark on a romantic sunset cruise. The island also provides snorkeling, diving, kayaking, and sailing opportunities.

While there isn’t a vegan hotel in St. Lucia, there is one very gorgeous and vegan-friendly one you must check out.

Vegan Honeymoon Resort Recommendation in St. Lucia:

This luxury resort was built to work with nature, not against it. Set within 600 acres of tropical rainforest with two white sand beaches, you’ll feel like you have your own hidden paradise. When you get hungry, you’ll be spoiled at the resort’s fully vegan restaurant, Emerald’s.

#9 Tuscany

Tuscany is famous for its picturesque countryside, rolling hills, vineyards, and olive groves. The landscape has charming medieval hilltop towns, cypress-lined roads, and sunflower fields. It’s an amazing region to combine with other parts of Italy or Europe for the ultimate vegan-friendly honeymoon adventure!

While you could sit around and sip wine all day, Tuscany is meant to be explored! You can stroll hand-in-hand through vineyards and charming towns, take hot air balloon rides over the countryside, go cycling, and even relax in thermal spas.

For vegans, there is really no better place to stay than this gorgeous eco-farmhouse in San Gimignano.

#10 London

For some, London might not even get a second thought as a honeymoon destination, but I think there is probably no better place in the world for vegan couples who enjoy city life and eating! London is one of my favorite cities — no matter how many times you have visited, there is always something new to see!

The diverse UK capital is a hub for art, culture, history, dining, and so much more! You can spend the day exploring world-class museums, visiting West End Theatres, touring historical landmarks like Big Ben and Westminster Abbey, and much more. Plus, London is one of the most vegan-friendly cities in the world — no matter what you’re craving, you’ll find it and more in London.

Like Tuscany, London is a great city to add to a multi-city European honeymoon tour — I also suggest taking a trip south and visiting the beautiful vegan-friendly seaside town, Brighton. It’s only an hour from London by train.

Vegan Honeymoon Hotel Recommendation in London:

Hilton London Bankside

Vegan-friendly hotel
This centrally-located London hotel joined forces with the Vegan Society to create the very first vegan suite in London! No detail was spared in creating this suite; in addition to vegan mini-bar treats and in-room dining options, the suite also features vegan bedding, carpeting, cruelty-free toiletries, and even the room card is made from pineapple!

If the suite isn’t available or out of your budget, there are also other vegan-friendly hotels throughout London.

#11 Paris

Paris has long been heralded as one of the world’s most romantic cities; in addition, it’s vegan-friendly, making it a fantastic honeymoon destination! A trip to the City of Lights includes an abundance of historical landmarks (Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Louvre Museum, and the Champs-Élysées), along with plenty of art, culture, picturesque streets, and romantic bridges — what more could you want in a honeymoon!

There are endless opportunities for romance in Paris — long strolls in historic neighborhoods, garden picnics, quiet boat rides on the Seine River, and much more. You can also feast on all the traditional Parisian delicacies like cheese, crepes, and an endless assortment of pastries  — all veganized!

Vegan Honeymoon Hotel Recommendation in Paris:

#12 Mallorca (Majorca)

If you’re interested in exploring any of Spain, add Mallorca to your list! The picture-perfect Balearic Island is known for its pristine beaches, scenic landscape, and charming towns. Most are drawn to the island’s beauty first; what’s not to love about stunning coastlines, shimmering blue waters, and rolling hills dotted with almond groves and olive orchards?

After relaxing on the beach or hiking, you’ll also want to wander through the charming towns and villages that cover the island. Many feature traditional Spanish architecture, narrow streets, and historic buildings. Palma de Mallorca, the capital city, is a vibrant and cosmopolitan hub with a stunning Gothic cathedral (La Seu) and a picturesque old town (La Lonja).

Vegan Honeymoon Hotel Recommendation in Mallorca:

Villa Vegana

Vegan resort
This is a little slice of vegan paradise. The gorgeous resort is set in a 15th-century manor house and features panoramic views of the Tramuntana Mountains. Your stay includes a fantastic breakfast spread with house-made pancakes, tofu scramble, and more. If you don’t feel like leaving the resort, no worries; they’re also happy to feed you all day long! #13 Kenya

If you’ve ever wanted to explore Africa or go on an African safari, these next two spots must be at the top of your list!

Kenya is renowned for its incredible wildlife and breathtaking landscapes. It is often considered one of the top safari destinations in Africa. The country’s national parks and reserves, such as Maasai Mara, Amboseli, Tsavo, and Lake Nakuru, offer opportunities to witness the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino) and a wide array of other animals in their natural habitats.

In addition to witnessing an array of gorgeous wildlife, you’ll also want to head to the coast. Kenya’s coastline along the Indian Ocean is dotted with beaches and idyllic resorts. Destinations like Diani Beach, Watamu, and Lamu Island are known for their captivating beauty.

Vegan Honeymoon Hotel Recommendation in Kenya:

Emboo River Camp

Vegan-friendly eco-lodge
Nestled in the wildlife-rich Maasai Mara is this unique eco-lodge that is a leader in sustainable travel and responsible safaris. The carbon-neutral camp is concerned with limiting its impact on the environment and the wildlife that calls the area home. They have implemented silent safaris that are run on electric vehicles, which are better for the environment and don’t disturb the animals. In addition to that, the camp utilizes solar energy for electricity, employs eco-friendly waste management systems, grows much of its own food, and implements water conservation measures. On the dining side, everything is made utilizing food grown onsite, and the menu is heavily plant-forward; meat options are secondary and need to be requested.

#14 South Africa

We’re wrapping up this mind-blowing vegan-friendly honeymoon list with a country well known for its stunning landscapes, vibrant cities, and diverse wildlife, South Africa!

For many, South Africa is at the top of must-travel lists for its wildlife and safari options in the Kruger National Park, but there is much more to see! The country has much to explore, from the iconic Table Mountain in Cape Town to the scenic Garden Route (also, don’t miss the vegan scene in Cape Town)! In addition to its natural beauty, South Africa has a rich and complex history. No visit is complete without visiting historical sites such as the Robben Island Museum, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, and the Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg, which provides insight into the country’s struggle for freedom and democracy.

Vegan Honeymoon Hotel Recommendation in South Africa:
