Whether you’re looking for an all-day breakfast spot with killer breakfast tacos or stacks of thick-cut French toast for brunch, you’ll have more options than you’ll know what to do with in Austin.

With one look at their cheese-covered scramble or giant breakfast sandwich loaded with sausage, gravy, and melted cheese, you’ll be getting in the car and asking Google for the quickest way here!

This modern meat-free café serves breakfast all day, every day, so there is no need to make a mad dash here to get your hands on any of their comfort food specialties. If you prefer sweet things to start your day, don’t miss their gluten-free fluffy pancakes, best eaten with a side of sunflower seed butter.

#2 Vegan Nom

Breakfast is served every day until 4 PM & is gluten-free and nut-free friendly.
If you’re craving savory tacos loaded with spicy chorizo, queso, and potatoes, look no further than The Vegan Nom.

This Tex-Mex-inspired vegan food truck is tucked back into a little vegan food truck oasis, sharing space with a vegan burger truck (Nom Burgers), a milkshake truck (Milky Way), and a pizza truck (Possum Pizza), but it’s the only one of the four with a breakfast menu! All of their vegan breakfast taco specialties are loaded with house-made ingredients, but they’re only available until 4 PM.

If you don’t make it in time, don’t fret; their burritos, nachos, and lunch/dinner tacos are stellar!

#3 ATXFOODCO.

If I lived close to this bright green food truck, my bank account would be upset! Every morning I would want to turn up here for a veggie-loaded breakfast taco and walnut milk latte! Their breakfast lineup is small but mighty, everything is focused on delivering flavor-packed dishes that you’ll adore, but they are also insanely good for you!

Aside from tacos covered in their special Green Goddess sauce, they also have berry-topped pancakes and a massive lineup of fruit and veggie-packed smoothies — don’t miss their special Green Juice. 

#4 Mr. Natural

Breakfast is served every day, except Sunday, with additional brunch options on Saturday.
Forget about pancakes and French toast; you need a giant plate filled with Tofu Migas (tofu scramble simmered in house-made salsa ranchera and mixed with tortilla chips) or a Tex-Mex style Cowboy Scramble with spicy soy-rizo!

This family-run authentic Mexican vegetarian restaurant is hands down one of my favorite places to start the day — you’re guaranteed to walk out of here satisfied. They add to their already epic menu on Friday and Saturday with chick’n and waffles, house-made biscuits, and more!

#5 Boudin Creek

Well before Austin was a vegan food mecca, Boudin Creek was pushing the veggie message. The community-focused vegetarian restaurant cares about everything that comes out of its kitchen, from purchasing locally sourced ingredients to community-driven fundraising events and paying its workers a living wage. You can eat here knowing that not only is it benefiting the animals, but also Austin.

Their flavor-packed all-day breakfast menu is vast — good luck choosing just one thing! If you love savory dishes, don’t skip any of their tofu scrambles, the tofu is covered with a crispy and cheesy coating that I’ve never had anywhere else! Along with the scramble, don’t miss their house-made grilled blueberry cornbread cakes — it’s the best cornbread meets pancake that you’ll ever have!

#6 Casa de Luz Village

Breakfast is served until 11 AM every day & is gluten-free friendly.

For an affordable and super healthy start to your day, head down to Casa de Luz.This whole foods plant-based café is skilled at creating healthy and delicious dishes free of oil, refined sugar and mostly gluten-free.

Every morning they serve a mix of breakfast/brunch dishes like porridge with house-made granola, dark leafy greens with nuts and seeds, hot tea, and more. Their breakfast lineup is $10 per person and will have you fueled and ready to tackle whatever is in front of you!

While you can’t skip diving into one of their gorgeous cheese boards, you shouldn’t miss their beautiful croissant breakfast sandwiches, thick-cut strawberry cream French toast, or locally made pastries.

#8 Bistro Vonish

You’ll want to set an alarm to make it to this spot. Only on Sundays does this Southern comfort food truck delights its guests with insanely delicious vegan brunch fare! Their menu features sweet cornbread covered in savory gravy and greens, golden Monte Cristo (French toast sandwiched with seitan, cream cheese, and strawberry coulis), icing-covered cinnamon rolls, and so much more!

You really don’t want to miss that French toast sandwich! It’s also set up next to the vegan and gluten-free bakery, Zucchini Kill, just in case you’re in the mood for a sweet treat afterward!

#9 Community Vegan

This vegan food truck thrives on creating incredible dishes that people “used to eat” and probably didn’t ever think they could eat after going vegan! Every Sunday, you’ll want to treat yo’self to a fluffy biscuit sandwich loaded with crispy fried oyster shrooms and vegan egg or a giant syrup-covered Belgian waffle topped with crispy fried chick’n (made from oyster mushrooms) and sweet potato waffle fries.
