I have a sweet tooth. There is nothing that I love more than an over the top slice of decadent chocolate cake, or maybe cheesecake, or maybe BOTH! If you feel the same then you will be in sugar heaven in Vancouver.

Vancouver has amazing vegan options — I spent a week there and somehow didn’t make it to all of them! Amazing, right? But I did manage to check out quite a few mouthwatering vegan and vegan-friendly dessert spots.

I found just about every kind of treat I (and probably you) could wish for, from golden croissants to raw layered chocolate bars and everything in between! So get ready for the ultimate sugar high and make sure you don’t miss a single one of these amazing vegan bakeries in Vancouver.

The Best Vegan Bakeries in Vancouver, BC

These Vancouver vegan bakeries have it all — cookies stuffed with peanut butter, golden pastries, mini cupcakes, and more! You’re not going to be disappointed.

#1 Bonus Bakery

1185 W Georgia St, Vancouver, BC V6E 4E6, Canada
Hard stop. If you’re looking to be wowed, scroll no further! If there was a show where traditional baked goods went for a star-studded vegan makeover, I think it would happen here. Instead of just baking traditional cookies, the creative masterminds at Bonus decide to stuff and top them with loads of creative fillings — peanut butter and jelly, smores, Nutella, cookies and cream, and more!

While their amazing cookies are the bakery’s star, the fun doesn’t end there. You’ll also find stuffed, double-baked croissants, golden Liege waffles, and fluffy cinnamon rolls! This is definitely one of the best vegan bakeries in Vancouver — good luck leaving here with only one thing!

#2 To Live for Bakery

1508 Nanaimo St, Vancouver, BC V5L 4T8, Canada
Although this spot is a little off the beaten path, it was well worth the bus ride! No matter what time of day you wander in, there is always a steady stream of sweet-seeking folks — whether it’s to start the day with a croissant and chai or wrap it up with a rainbow buttercream-topped cupcake, the options are endless. Everything on the menu is vegan, and there are many gluten-free options. You’ll have a hard time deciding what to get; everything is fantastic! You can’t go wrong with a tender slice of house-made banana bread or chocolate hazelnut mousse cake!

#3 Edible Flours

2280 W Broadway, Vancouver, BC V6K 2E3, Canada
Listen up to gluten- and/or sugar-free friends; you need to stop here! This vegan bakery specializes in crafting a wide array of sweet treats. Every day their little bakeshop is filled with the scent of sweet cinnamon and sugar, along with a rotating mix of daily specials — if you have your eyes on something specific, you’ll want to get there early!

Whether you have to skip gluten or not, you can start the day with a yummy cinnamon roll or slice of sweet bread but will want to return for one of their many giant cookies, bars, or a slice of cheesecake!

#4 Level V Bakery

39 Kingsway, Vancouver, BC V5T 3H7, Canada
If their goal is to bring vegan sweets to a whole new level, I think they have succeeded! This bright and modern bakery is the perfect place to soak in the afternoon sun with a mini pink buttercream-topped cupcake or grab a little sugar fix as you wander the eclectic mix of boutique shops on Main Street. Their lineup of desserts includes pastries, cupcakes, cookies, raw bars, and much more. I highly recommend the raw Nanaimo bar — a Canadian classic made with dates, nuts, coconut milk, and chocolate. They have plenty of gluten and nut-free treats too!

#5 Vegan Pudding & Co.

422 Richards St, Vancouver, BC V6B 2Z4, Canada
You really can’t skip visiting the one and only vegan pudding shop in Canada, can you!? This small window counter is tucked right in the heart of downtown Vancouver — if you’re not looking for it, it’s easy to wander right by! These smooth and creamy creations show even the staunchest naysayer that eggs and whole milk are totally irrelevant! Their flavors range from traditional chocolate and vanilla to crème brûlée and matcha green tea with black sesame sauce — it’s safe to say there’s a flavor for everyone! And, if you love their creations, you can purchase the pudding mixes online.

#6 TurF Kitsilano

2041 W 4th Ave, Vancouver, BC V6J 1N3, Canada
What happens when you marry veganism with yoga? If you think you get an acai bowl, you’d be correct, but you also get a massive lineup of gorgeous vegan baked goods and desserts!

Right on Kitsilano’s bustling 4th Avenue is this fitness studio meets vegan-friendly café that dishes out a terrific lineup of vegan breakfast and lunch options, but what you really can’t miss are their baked goods. At first, I didn’t think they were vegan! You’ll droll over their giant, fluffy croissants, raw chocolate bars, brownies, muffins, and more! Just don’t forget to pair it with their Tarps Off smoothie (a blend of peanut butter, hemp seed, banana, lucuma, berry compote, and sea salt) — I promise you’ll be glad you did.

#7 ChocolaTas

1689 Johnston St, Vancouver, BC V6H 3R9, Canada
While wandering around the historic Granville Market, you can’t leave without checking out the vegan options at this artisanal chocolate shop! I thought, oh, they’ll just have one or two flavors — oh no, there were at least eight different truffle flavors plus a lineup of bars and chocolate-covered nuts! Their delicious vegan chocolates are filled with poached pear, pistachio, hazelnut, chipotle pecan, and more. I thought I could try just one and be on my way — no such luck; I couldn’t leave without a box.

#8 Cartems

Locations in Mt. Pleasant & Downtown Vancouver
I walked by this Vancouver donut spot twice, examining the menu and curious if the little “v” next to many of the donut flavors really meant vegan. So often, it can mean vegetarian, and many places just come out with their vegan declaration, but not here.
Well, three times is really a charm because I finally went in and was delighted to find out the little “v” does mean vegan!

To my surprise, most of the donuts on their menu are vegan, and some are even vegan and gluten-free — how fantastic is that? Every day you’ll always find popular flavors like smoked maple walnut and chocolate glaze, but they also have a rotating lineup of specialty options like salted caramel, Earl Grey, mango coconut, and more.

#9 The Gluten Free Epicurean

633 E 15th Ave, Vancouver, BC V5T 2R4, Canada
Another excellent option for my gluten-free friends, especially if you’re celiac. This vegan-friendly bakery has kicked gluten fully to the curb and has fantastic vegan options! The well-marked menu includes grain-free tarts, freshly baked donuts, cupcakes, and more. They also have a select number of sweet and savory options you can take and bake at home!
