This vegan-friendly hotel is interesting because it has several locations along the West Coast of Portugal. Other locations include Porto, Peniche, and Boavista Ericeira — there’s a good chance they might have some vegan options, too!
This hip spot is such a beautiful and affordable hidden gem in the city! Plus, it’s connected to the vegan-friendly restaurant HOWM! In the morning, you can wake up to avocado toast, tofu scramble, and more — is there anything better? It’s also only a short walk from a fabulous spot that has vegan pastel de nata! One important note: the hotel does offer hostel (shared) rooms and a variety of private rooms. Make sure you double-check what you’re choosing when checking out if you don’t want roommates!

Omassim is well known for its vegetarian buffet (it can be vegan and gluten-free; inform them in advance), made with locally sourced ingredients and is healthy and delicious! Ericeira is 50 km from the Humberto Delgado Airport, so it might be worth hiring a car or asking them to book airport transport for you.

Jardins Do Porto is in the center of Porto, just 1km from Sao Bento Metro Station and a 10-minute walk from Sao Bento Train Station. Some of the rooms at this hotel have a stunning view of the gardens, and there’s a communal lounge and garden area for unwinding at the end of the day. In addition to being a beautiful hotel, you can also get a vegan breakfast — mention it when booking. Plus, their on-site restaurant, Jardineiro Kitchen, is entirely plant-based and open for lunch and dinner!

Everything at Casa Vale da Lama was built and designed with sustainability in mind. Their land is 43 hectares, and they focus on growing food, regenerating soil, and returning to nature. On the eco side, they also have a custom-made fireplace that uses less wood, and solar panels primarily run the site’s electricity and water. Their sustainable efforts also spread to other areas, where they recycle grey and black water and use non-toxic cleaning products. This sustainable outlook also extends to food, as the resort is exclusively vegetarian — specify vegan when you book!
7. 4Bs – Birds & Bicycles

4Bs—Birds & Bicycles is a self-contained apartment with a private entrance and a cozy feel! Surprisingly spacious inside, this small guesthouse was born out of the owner’s love for bikes and nature. Yoga classes and other activities, such as hiking and cycling tours, are also offered. The in-house restaurant also offers vegan and gluten-free options, so you can have a delicious breakfast before you head out on some fantastic adventures!

This lovely renovated farm, Quinta Alma Verde, is southeast of Porto, about 38 km from Parque Natural Serra da Estrela, and has the most enchanting views you’ll ever see! Póvoa das Quartas is perfect for hiking and skiing—did I already mention the stunning views of the mountains?! They can provide additional vegan breakfast options, but they already have lots of fruit, plant milk, plant-based ‘honey,’ nuts and nut butter, hummus, olive pate, chia pudding, overnight oats, dried fruit, cereals, and homemade jams. You really need to come and discover for yourself!
9. Quinta de Águias

Quinta de Águias is a farm/animal sanctuary in Aveiro, approximately 74 km south of Porto. On the farm/sanctuary, there is a gorgeous property, which is a rental home with two bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a fully functioning kitchen! They have an outdoor swimming pool, balcony, and barbeque facilities – the perfect stay if you like cooking some of your meals to make your vacation more affordable. Breakfast is included in your booking and can be made fully vegan on request! Everything is house-made and delicious, using organic fruit and vegetables from the farm.
10. Vale de Moses

This vegan yoga retreat is in Castelo Branco, close to Serra de Estrela Natural Park. Vale de Moses is nestled into the magical forest mountains of Central Portugal. They offer yoga retreats throughout the year as they hire out spaces to other instructors. If you’re not interested in a downward dog, they also have plenty of accommodation options depending on your needs!
There are farmhouse bedrooms (no ensuites), stone cottages, and even belle tents for the perfect glamping vacation! Their plant-based chefs cook using Ayurvedic principles, so the food tastes incredible and is also nutritious! All of their meals are vegetarian/vegan, and most are also gluten-free — which I always like to see!
