Decadent Vegan & Vegan-Friendly Bakeries in Nashville

If you’re in the mood for a vegan and gluten-free Funfetti cupcake or a sweet pineapple upside-down cake, you’ll find it and more at one of these Nashville vegan bakeries.

#1 Sunflower Bakehouse

2414 Lebanon Pike, Nashville, TN 37214
Holy smokes! This vegan and gluten-free bakeshop is nothing short of amazing! I was so blown away by how tender and delicious these sweet treats were that I double-checked that I didn’t misread that everything was gluten-free!

Their dessert case is lined with award-winning (they’ve won multiple awards for being Nashville’s best dessert spot) cupcakes, cookies, parfaits, scones, biscuits, and much more! While I think everything in their dessert case is top-notch, there are two things you can’t walk out the door without trying — cupcakes and biscuits!

Their cupcake menu is endless, just about every flavor combo that you can dream up, they have — lavender vanilla, mocha java, peanut butter chocolate, coconut snowball, lemon curd, and that’s just the start. Then on the savory side, I’ve never sampled such a tender and delicious vegan and gluten-free biscuit. Honestly, I think all the ones I had tried before were more like hockey pucks than biscuits!

In addition to the epic bakery lineup, they also have a full café with fantastic options all day long.

#2 Guerrilla Bizkits

1006 Fatherland St, Suite 207, Nashville, TN 37206
Oh my, vegan biscuits! This punk-rock-themed bakeshop is taking the biscuit world by storm with these giant, buttery creations — you honestly haven’t had a biscuit until you’ve come here!

They have three stellar options — Straight Edge (classic buttermilk), Loaded (savory cheddar and garlic), and Blackout (a sweet and spicy cherry jalapeno mix). You can order just a warm Bizkit with a side of jam and butter or have them create the ultimate Bizkit Sammy loaded with sausage and cheddar. Things get even more creative on the weekend — how’s a Bizkit waffle sound?!

The Bizkits are available to eat immediately, or you can grab a frozen pack to throw in the freezer for later!

Eating cookie dough might be the best part of making cookies, but not all dough is safe unless you come here! This unique vegan-friendly Nashville dessert spot is whipping up downright decadent sundaes with an almost entirely vegan lineup of cookie dough bases!

Start with a classic chocolate chip cookie dough or try something unique like banana pudding, then top it with a myriad of fun toppings or just eat it as is! If you’re gluten-free, you don’t have to sit out! They also have a gluten-free oatmeal chocolate chip option.

#5 East Park Donuts & Coffee

700 Main St, Nashville, TN 37206
What’s better than a fresh donut and coffee? Not much! When you’re in the mood for a decadent vegan cake donut topped with an addictive layer of sweet sugar, you need to head here! Everyday, the team at this family-run shop gets up early to make these sweet dough treats by hand and they always have a couple vegan options! Depending on when you visit, you might find their tart Meyer Lemon poppyseed, traditional cinnamon sugar creations or other addictive flavors!

If you love ice cream, you can’t miss Nashville’s only vegan ice cream shop! The small pastel-covered shop is tucked back in a unique business district made of shipping containers, which only adds to its charm!

Their ultra-creamy, coconut-based ice creams are made by hand and regularly rotate to feature a seasonal lineup of flavors. Depending on when you visit, you might be delighted with lavender dreams, pumpkin spice latte, Dutch apple pie, key lime pie, watermelon taffy, and many more!

On top of the mouthwatering flavor lineup, they also have gluten-free ice cream cones — always a fantastic bonus when you are gluten-free.

#7 Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream

Multiple locations throughout Nashville
It’s quite possible you’ve seen this brand in the market or passed by one of its scoop shops throughout the US — it’s made quite a name for itself for having super creative, artisanal flavors! Luckily, they didn’t forget about vegans when concocting these over-the-top flavors!

No matter which shop you visit, you’ll always find at least a couple of vegan options like Cold Brew with Coconut Cream (if you’re a coffee lover, you’ll love this), Banana Cream Pie, Texas Sheet Cake, Caramel Pecan Sticky Buns, and more!

#8 Hattie Jane’s Creamery

5055 Broadway Pl, Nashville, TN 37203 (Inside Assembly Food Hall)
I didn’t expect to find vegan options at this locally-owned ice cream spot, but I am glad I was wrong! Their menu focuses on a lineup of classic and seasonal flavors, and there is always a vegan option in each (sometimes gluten-free too)!

Creative flavors include blueberry and granola, toasted coconut, cotton candy, dark chocolate, and more! One more bonus, they also have vegan cones that are specially marked!
