Sa-Waddee! Welcome to Thailand!

Thailand’s bustling capital, Bangkok, is renowned for its tuk-tuks, khlong boats, and street vendors serving up delicious Thai cuisine. Bangkok has so much to offer those with time to explore, so perhaps arrive a day or so early and wander down the tourist mecca of Khao San Road or indulge in a Thai massage. After the welcome meeting at 6 pm today, we will head to a local restaurant for dinner.

Please let us know if you’d like help arranging airport transportation for your arrival and departure.

Today you’ll set out on a private longtail boat ride along the Chao Phraya River, gliding through Bangkok’s famous khlongs (canals), where life feels worlds away from the capital’s busy streets. Your journey continues with a visit to Wat Pho, one of Bangkok’s most iconic temples. This sprawling complex is home to the 46-metre-long reclining Buddha, covered in gold leaf, and is also renowned as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage.

Next, hop into an electric tuk-tuk for a sustainable ride through the charming Pranakhon area. As you wind through narrow alleys and the old town, you’ll pass many of Bangkok’s landmarks, including The Golden Mount, the Giant Swing, Phra Sumen Fort, the Flower Market, Chinatown, and Talad Noi.

Continue to Wat Chai Watthanaram, a majestic riverside temple built in 1630 by King Prasat Thong in honor of his mother. With its symmetrical design and timeless beauty, it remains one of the highlights of Ayutthaya, especially enchanting at sunset.

Today offers a remarkable journey back in time, immersing you in the culture and history of Ayutthaya, a city once at the heart of a thriving kingdom and still home to some of Thailand’s most awe-inspiring ancient temples and ruins.

Chao Sam Phraya National Museum
Wat Phra Mahathat
Wat Chai Watthanaram

Fly north to Chiang Mai, the vibrant heart of Northern Thailand, renowned for its ancient temples, charming old city, and famously warm hospitality. Often called the “Rose of the North,” this lively city is sure to captivate you.

At the top, you’ll be rewarded with one of Thailand’s most breathtaking temples and sweeping panoramic views of Chiang Mai below. Afterward, return to the hotel to check in and relax.

In the evening, prepare for a flavorful adventure by songthaew (red truck taxi). This food-focused journey will take you through lively neighborhoods and hidden gems, sampling some of the city’s best vegan specialties — from fragrant curries to irresistible desserts. Just below the summit, discover the striking twin chedis, built by the Royal Thai Air Force to honor the late King and Queen on their 60th birthdays. With their stunning architecture and breathtaking surroundings, the chedis are a favorite spot for both locals and visitors alike.

The path begins with a descent to a waterfall before leveling out into a relaxed walk along a small irrigation canal. As you explore its charming streets, you’ll discover plenty of vegan-friendly cafés and restaurants. Depending on the day, enjoy lunch at a local favorite: The Vegan Table, an award-winning restaurant known for creative plant-based dishes, or Dok Bua Vegetarian, winner of the “Best Plant-Based Cheap Eats in Phuket” award at the 2021 Root the Future Food Awards.

In the afternoon, make your way to Promthep Cape, one of Phuket’s most iconic viewpoints. Perched at the southern tip of the island, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Andaman Sea — especially magical at sunset.

Upon arrival, ride by traditional songthaew to a local Thai-Muslim village, where you’ll be warmly welcomed by residents eager to share their culture.
