Meals included: Breakfast & Dinner
This morning, we’ll take a short domestic flight to Da Nang (1.5 hours), followed by a scenic 30-minute drive to the charming ancient town of Hoi An. After checking in, we’ll embark on a walking tour to explore its rich history and diverse architecture. Once a thriving trading hub in the 16th century, Hoi An is home to beautifully preserved streets and centuries-old Chinese houses. Stroll along its distinctive cobblestone lanes and admire a blend of Chinese, Japanese, French, and European architectural styles. Highlights of our tour include the iconic 400-year-old Japanese Bridge and the historic Phuc Kien Assembly Hall.
Next, we’ll visit Reaching Out Tea House, a serene café run by a local nonprofit that empowers the deaf and mute community through employment and vocational training. The peaceful atmosphere inside offers a stark yet beautiful contrast to the bustling streets outside.
In the late afternoon, we’ll set off on a vibrant vegan street food tour. We’ll start with a plant-based banh mi packed with tofu, mushrooms, and fragrant herbs, followed by water fern cakes—a delicious Central Vietnamese snack resembling floating water ferns. To end the evening, we’ll savor a bowl of vegan Cao Lau, a Hoi An specialty. This dish is unique to the town, as its noodles are traditionally made using water from ancient Cham wells. With its thick, udon-like texture and rich flavors, it’s the perfect way to wrap up our culinary adventure in Hoi An.
